englischIn how far can reading a certain novel help us to solve problems that are not dealt with in the plot of its story but in our own lives? This study not only offers current findings and discourses from the variety of research culture concerning the relevance of reading, but they are also described and related to bibliotherapeutic and interdisciplinary lessons. Apart from the profound importance of actively dealing with a novel’s content in terms of one’s own biography, the necessity of developing inner imagery and imagination itself becomes the focal point of this work. These aspects are reinforced by current research results from the field of cognitive psychology, which examines the measurable effect of literature in the human brain.
Wie kann Lesen uns im Leben weiterbringen und Probleme lösen, die außerhalb des Romangeschehens liegen? Bisherige Erkenntnisse und Diskurse aus unterschiedlichen Forschungskulturen hinsichtlich der Relevanz des Lesens werden im Rahmen dieser Arbeit gebündelt, verdichtet, beschrieben und auf einen bibliotherapeutisch orientierten fächerverbindenden Unterricht bezogen. Neben der tiefgehenden Bedeutung des aktiven Umgangs mit dem Romaninhalt für die eigene Biografie stehen auch die Notwendigkeit der Entwicklung von inneren Bildwelten und die Imagination im Fokus. Untermauert wird dies u.a. durch bisherige Erkenntnisse der Kognitionspsychologie, die den messbaren Effekt von Literatur im Gehirn untersucht.
