This study not only offers current findings and discourses from the variety of research culture concerning the relevance of reading, but they are also described and related to bibliotherapeutic and interdisciplinary lessons. Apart from the profound importance of actively dealing with a novel’s content in terms of one’s own biography, the necessity of developing inner imagery and imagination itself becomes the focal point of this work. These aspects are reinforced by current research results from the field of cognitive psychology, which examines the measurable effect of literature in the human brain.
