englischThe authors identify reasons why women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions compared to men despite equal or better qualifications. Concrete support measures for female managers in the public and private sectors are shown and compared for the first time. For this purpose, female employees in management positions in the city of Bochum and in a large international company were interviewed as part of a corporate analysis. The results show that measures are only effective if they are tailored precisely to the companies. In particular, the respective corporate cultures must be taken into account.
