englischThis volume examines and describes the significance of the stone structures in the park of the Buddhistisches Haus in Berlin-Frohnau. For the first time in the Western world, the German Buddhist Paul Dahlke and his architect Max Meyer created new architectural elements for Eastern Buddhist doctrines and practice there in the 1920s. This religious-cultural adaptation was and is unique and has not been attempted by “Western” Buddhists since. The Buddhist missionary societies and missionaries who later came to the Western world brought their own symbols and sometimes their church language with them. Especially onsite, this book can serve as an explanation of the symbolism for lay people and as a practical guide for Buddhists.
