englischMash it up! On the Internet, anything can be downloaded, reformatted, assembled and published. At least in theory. In reality, various online practices for different purposes attract certain communities while irritating others. This dissertation thematises changes in such intermedial practices by non-professional Internet users through the example of mash-ups.

Compositions of media fragments have existed for decades, but a comprehensive definition of the ‘mash-up’, i.e. a composition that includes several media aspects and thus the complexity of the media product, is still lacking.
