englischThe topic selection of judges has become topical again in Germany because the coalition agreement of the governing parties includes a review of the selection of federal judges. The book examines the selection of judges in a European comparison. The selection of federal judges plays an important role in this context. It is criticised for being non-transparent and dominated by party politics. On the basis of the German constitution and comparative law, concrete proposals for improvement are formulated - also with regard to the election of federal judges. The book is aimed at all those who deal with judicial policy and are interested in more transparency, justice and equal opportunities within the judiciary.
