Description
The European Economic Area (EEA) brings together the EU Member States and the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to form a single market of almost 520 million inhabitants. The importance of close cooperation between the EU and the EFTA states has recently been brought back to public awareness by the Brexit. This has shown that there is a need for alternative integration scenarios to EU membership. The contributions in this volume put this integration model to the test. From a legal perspective, the experiences with the EEA Agreement, which came into force 25 years ago, and the perspectives for its further development are discussed.
