Aktuelle Entwicklungen bei der Umsetzung der Wasserrahmenrichtlinie

Taking into account recent groundbreaking court rulings, the transcripts from the 22nd ‘Umweltrechtliches Symposion’ (Symposium on Environmental Laws) in Leipzig on 30th and 31st March 2017 examine current developments in the implementation of the EU’s Water Framework Directive. This book collates these transcripts, which present a summary of the condition of all Germany’s bodies of water and focus in particular on the successes achieved in implementing the directive in Germany, the persistent need for action, recent rulings within the framework of water law, this law’s implementation in practice and the possible consequences of that. It also highlights the specific effects that implementing the directive has had on industry and agriculture, for instance the spread of micropollutants. This book will appeal to all those who are studying or involved in issues relating to the implementation of the EU’s Water Framework Directive and want to keep themselves abreast of practical innovations in this field.
