Description
This volume examines the history of the German civil service pay system through the prism of salary justice in order to highlight ist path dependencies, historical alternatives and the practical effects. The research concept of so-called strong asymmetrical dependency helps to question the historically evolved principle critically by analysing remuneration concepts, their origins and possible consequences. The negotiation system was no longer compatible with the status relationship under civil service law, and the salary was therefore explained as compensation for losses and further developed into the modern principle of „Alimentation“ in the 19th century. An extensive bibliography enables more recent individual aspects to be analysed.
