AI-supported assistance systems offer promising approaches to compensate for the shortage of skilled personnel, as well as to increase the quality of care and nursing and the quality of life of people in social work facilities. Especially in their anthropomorphic (or zoomorphic) form, which they have in intimate areas of the human, they pose the classical anthropological question of the central difference between man and machine anew. The contributions in this volume explore the shifting boundaries in the relation between carers and cared-for that result from this.
