Angewandte Arbeitssoziologie

This introductory textbook is aimed at students interested in issues relating to the sociology of work, as well as practitioners in human resources management and employee representation. It provides a foundation in sociological theory and develops practical skills for analysing and shaping modern working environments. The three-step conceptual approach – understanding work, researching work, shaping work – combines theoretical foundations with empirical methods and practical design questions. Competence-oriented guiding questions and the inclusion of current topics such as digitalisation, care work and precarious employment facilitate a critical, interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approach.
