Archival Science and the Digital Transformation in Vietnam

This book offers an excellent overview of modern archival studies, and not only in contemporary Vietnam. Archives have the permanent function of preserving evidence from the past—be it on paper, in other traditional ways, or in audiovisual formats. However, much of the material that is stored in archives today already arrives there in a digital format, and access to documents is also being provided more and more through the Internet. A transition from the analogue to the digital age has been taking place in archives all over the world for some years now, changing the work of archivists and requiring new technologies and concepts in relation to digital transformation, freedom of information and other important issues.
