Friedrich Rückert und Russland
Ergon, 1. Edition 2019, 130 Pages
Description
The reception of Friedrich Rückert’s works in Russia is still largely unexplored, even though he was very popular there in the 19th century. His translations from Sanskrit and Persian were transcribed by Žukovskij, and several of his poems were also converted into Russian by famous and competent translators. This study shows that Rückert’s influence on Russian literature in the 19th century transcends their adoption through translations.
