Description
Children's convalescent care – for many a painful chapter, for others a source of recovery or professional ethos. For the first time in Germany, former child patients with different experiences, former sanatorium staff, local residents, and politicians came together at a scientifically moderated round table in St. Peter-Ording in 2024/25. The evaluation of this multi-perspective dialogue highlights the complexity of these children’s convalescent programs and shows how respectful exchange can open up new paths for social reappraisal. The author has been researching this topic since 2021, now also in his postdoctoral thesis.
