Today, telemedicine already has an important impact on the medical treatment of patients. Since easing of the ban on exclusive remote treatment in 2018, doctors are now allowed to treat their patients entirely at a distance using means of telecommunication. Nevertheless, the legally protected rights of the patient are protected even in the digital age, since not least medical professional law, medical liability law and medical criminal law set clear legal limits for the doctor in the context of exclusive remote treatment.
