This textbook provides students and teachers of political and social sciences readers with orientations in the field of foreign and security policy in times of growing political uncertainty, a rapidly changing world order, and increasing societal dissent regarding Germany’s role in the world. It covers national decision-making processes and controversies as well as international challenges and international governance, along with increasingly transnational interests and actors. It connects theoretical perspectives with empirical fields—such as diplomacy, trade and climate policy, war and peace, or migration—and discusses these in their domestic policy, institutional, and international dimensions.
