Description
In its 9th sector report railways, the Monopolies Commission discusses the current competitive situation on the German railway markets. In particular, the Monopolies Commission recommends that quality regulation of the DB Group's infrastructure units should be more firmly anchored in the regulation of track access charges. It also considers competition problems in ticket distribution. The Monopolies Commission recommends that the DB Group should make real-time and forecast data of its infrastructure units that are relevant for competition available to third-party sales service providers. Finally, the Monopolies Commission renews its call for ownership separation of the infrastructure units from the DB Group's transport companies.
