Berichterstattung in Zeiten der Corona-Krise

The study examines the coverage of the main public news channels Tagesschau and heute in the period from January 2020 to September 2021, using the method of quantitative content analysis to describe how the federal government dealt with the Corona crisis in Germany and how the loss of power of the CDU/CSU occurred in the 2021 federal election. In doing so, it also looks at the relationship between news and polls. Parallel events at home and abroad are also considered. A look at the shift in global power relations between autocracies and democracies rounds out the picture.
