Berichterstattungsprivilegien im Jugendmedienschutz-Staatsvertrag

The author addresses the conflict between the public interest in information and the protection of minors and human dignity on the basis of the so-called "reporting privileges" in the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media (JMStV). In practice, the question of what content is still legally allowed to be presented arises not only, but especially in cases of reports about war and other humanitarian crises. In this respect, the work analyzes the legal provisions regarding the protection of minors relevant to broadcasting and telemedia services with the aim of providing orientation and guidelines for the often complex legal consideration processes, especially for media professionals and media supervision authorities.
