We live in a time of fragile certainties, in which moral orientation has become difficult in the face of plurality, crises, and complexity. Agnostic ethics renounces absolute truths and emphasizes epistemic modesty, provisionality, and dialogue. It understands moral action as responsibility in the mode of not knowing—reflective, cautious, and capable of learning. Instead of certainty, it seeks an attitude of openness and humility that takes human beings seriously in their limitations. Ethics thus becomes the task of assuming responsibility without claiming omnipotence and finding orientation without claiming ultimate certainties. In this uncertainty lies the opportunity for true ethical maturity.
