Civil Protection in Schools – Education as a Pillar of Resilience. A resilient society needs responsible citizens who can take action themselves. However, there is a lack of systematic education on civil protection, particularly for young people (Years 10–12).

Cennet Abs addresses this gap and analyses the political, social and media context, as well as the pedagogical requirements for a compendium designed to integrate topics relevant to civil protection into existing curricula. The thesis focuses on the legal framework and gap analysis, the teaching approach from Year 10 onwards, and the topics of climate, health, fire safety, digitalisation, quality assurance and teacher training.
