Description
Jacob Lenz (1751-1792), an important representative of the German Sturm und Drang movement, grew up in a parsonage, influenced by his father's pietistic Protestantism. His self-study encouraged him even more than the confusing school environment, so that he was finally able to distinguish himself as a Livonian poet, i.e. a German poet who came from abroad, through his poems and a sensational reality drama. The literary-historical, religious-historical, educational-historical and socio-historical background to his early career is explored by means of digressions. Four sources in the appendix are available to verify the analysis of the relevant discourses through your own reading.
