Biografische Entwürfe zwischen politischem Wandel und familiärer Überlieferung in Ostdeutschland

How do I react to upheavals of any kind? What significance do they have for my everyday life? And what insights do I take away from them for the rest of my life? These questions are answered from the perspective of 34 individual biographies in order to clarify the challenges and development opportunities that we humans face when we experience professional, family or political upheavals. Using the example of the last four system changes and their entire lives, the interviewees, who come from East Germany, illustrate the extent to which the pursuit of professional security, a sense of family well-being and enduring values determine their narratives of the present and the way they deal with the past.
