Description
The “Chinese European Law Review – ChEuLR” is an English-language academic journal focusing on legal research and academic exchange between China and Europe. It places particular emphasis on the latest research findings in China and Europe across the entire field of law. The journal is characterised by a comprehensive, open and interdisciplinary perspective and aims to promote equal dialogue between the very different legal systems of China and Europe (by Europe being primarily understood as a concept linked by a common cultural tradition and including the member states of the EU, the EFTA and the EEA. The journal welcomes academic contributions from all areas of law, with a particular focus on innovative topics and new issues in the field of legal studies. Questions relating to the practical application of law will also be considered. The journal advocates free and equal academic dialogue between China and Europe and promotes a deeper understanding of scientific exchange between the two sides.
The sections
1. Legal articles
Publication of longer academic papers focusing on comparative law between China and Europe and on private international law, criminal law and commercial law.
2. Review articles
Publication of systematic and comparative reviews of the state of research on specific legal issues and current legal developments in various areas of law.
3. Case comments
Thematic comments and dialogues on classic and current cases and court decisions that are of great research significance for the relationship between China and Europe; publication of comparative analysis studies on typical Chinese-European cases and legal practice.
4. Book Reviews
5. Forum
The forum provides a platform for discussing current legal issues and new developments that affect both the Chinese and European legal systems. Legal practice can also be a focus in this area, particularly when academic discussions on how the legal system deals with new real-world challenges are still in their infancy or when new phenomena arise.
Partners of the Cooperation
The journal was jointly initiated by renowned Chinese and European law faculties and is the result of many years of cooperation between these universities. Through the individuals involved, it is deeply rooted in the respective legal systems and corresponding professional communities.
