Description
Since its independence in 1991, Croatia has continuously worked to improve its European quality and competence. In spite of difficult domestic developments and in the midst of a highly vulnerable foreign and regional context, Croatia has undergone impressive reforms. About one decade after Croatia gained independence, the country is at the brinks of being recognized as a EU candidate state. Mladen Stanicic, Director of the distinguished Foreign Policy Research Institute IMO in Zagreb, has brought together highly competent experts of his country who assess the most crucial aspects of Croatias path towards EU membership. This first ever edition on Croatia’s developments since independence is another aspect in the context of the policy-advise and support which the Center for European Integration Studies is providing to both Croatian government institutions as well as to the academic community of Croatia.
