Description
Fritz Bauer consistently worked against the displacement mechanisms and amnesty aspirations of the German public, especially during the 1950s and 1960s. He would probably never have guessed to eventually become a cult figure. Still, the lawyer and prosecutor would likely have approved this since it would have served his cause of litigating the misconduct of the National Socialist regime. In this paper, based on contemporary discussions, Bauers' reception and his work will be examined in order to deconstruct and subsequently analyze the so-called "Fritz Bauer-Boom".
