This work offers interested lawyers and practitioners the first comprehensive overview of the historical development, legislative process, and results of the reform of the German Civil Code (BGB) relating to construction contracts. It essentially examines why legal codification took so long, what role the VOB/B played in this, and whether the objectives of the legislative process were achieved.
