Description
On 1 January 2016, the German legislator completely restructured the deportation law (§§ 53–55 AufenthG) and has since then barely changed it. The author analyzes this legal restructuring. In the first part, she examines the history of the deportation law. The second section consists of an analysis of the new regulations which the author then evaluates in part three.
The deportation law is an important topic from a legal, social and political point of view. For example, the number of deportations has recently increased, and the legislator has repeatedly used sociopolitical events as a reason to change deportation law. This dissertation provides a suitable foundation for those who work with and on the new deportation law.
