Description
At the nexus of philosophy and politics, of culture and law, Calvin Fromm focuses on a child of the crisis: the political myth. He examines the potential of political myths to both legitimise and delegitimise the state and its laws. In doing so, the author follows Ernst Cassirer, a highly influential cultural philosopher of the 20th century, who presented one of the first analyses of the totalitarian German state and its mythical founda-tions during his exile in the USA. The aim of the book is to bring his findings into the present. For this pur-pose, the author makes use of his experience in both law and philosophy.
