Das Spannungsfeld zwischen freier Presse und kommunalen Publikationen

The question of whether or under what conditions municipalities may publish articles on current events in the local community has been a matter of controversy for some time. The aim of this study is to systematically examine municipal communication in the light of various decisions and to explore in greater detail the scope for local authorities to publish their own reports in print media, online portals and social media. In particular, the competences of municipalities to communicate and their limits, which can arise from both public law and private law, will be examined. Finally, the paper also addresses the possibility of procedural action against any transgressions by the municipality.
