Description
On the grounds of the increasing demand for more transparency the book analyses the tension between transparency and data protection. Subject of the analysis is the German FSA code of transparency. This FSA code, a novelty in the healthcare sector, governs interactions between the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals and organizations. One of the stated goals of the FSA code is combating corruption. Therefore the book commences with a short explanation of this complex term. Following a so far unique description of the FSA code the book analyses the tension between the FSA code and the German Data Protection Act. In response to the „enforceable transparency“ as unsatisfying result of this analysis the author develops an innovative solution model located in the new European General Data Protection Regulation. As a result, the solution model shall enable the FSA code as well as its European equivalents to more efficiency.
