Das Töten von Tieren aus rechtlicher und rechtsphilosophischer Sicht
calcActive())">
Description
The book examines how the killing of animals is regulated by Swiss law and how it should be regulated in a just manner from a legal-philosophical perspective. The current law protects the lives of humans but not the lives of animals. According to the principle that unequal treatment must be justified, this regulation requires ethical justification. The justification would have to be that humans, in contrast to all non-human living beings, have an attribute that is a prerequisite for an ethical right to protection of life. However, the search for the conditions of an interest in life shows that the decisive attribute is not exclusively human. The current legal protection of life is therefore too narrow.
