Das Werkvertragsverbot in der Fleischindustrie

This dissertation provides an in-depth analysis of the constitutionality and conformity with EU law of the ban on work contracts in the meat industry, which was introduced in 2021 by the amendment to the GSA Fleisch. It examines the far-reaching effects of the new regulation, in particular whether the ban is compatible with the freedom to choose an occupation and the principle of equality. The work provides valuable insights into the challenges of ensuring an adequate level of protection for employees in an industry that has long been characterised by abuses. By examining in detail the proportionality of such a regulation, weighed against its potential practical implications, the thesis helps to understand the importance of the law for improving working conditions and protecting workers' rights.
