Description
Following two years of experience with the GDPR, this book performs an evaluation from the viewpoint of consumers and presents 33 simple and concrete proposals on how to improve its wording and better realise its goals. It also discusses conceptional weaknesses and develops proposals for solutions that fulfil its mandate.
The Regulation is too abstract in relation to many typical application scenarios and thus provokes legal uncertainty and pent-up investment. It does not live up to any of the challenges posed by modern information technologies and thereby produces gaps in legal protection. The recurring evaluations of the Regulation can be used to remedy deficits and bring about an evolution of EU data protection law.
