Datenschutz in der Arzneimittelforschung

In clinical drug trials, a variety of senisitive (health) data must be processed, as the study aims to create a dataset for the purpose of drug approval that demonstrates the safety and harmlessness of the drug. But also after a clinical trial has been completed, the data remain interesting for research. This work answers the question of whether the current law creates a proper balance between data protection and research interests and what changes should be made. The research takes into consideration the guarantees of data protection and research freedom of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights and the „Grundgesetz“ (Basic Law) of Germany.
