Datenschutzrechtliche Regulierung maschineller Lernverfahren

In healthcare, the use of machine learning to process personal data offers substantial gains in quality and efficiency. A key prerequisite is the availability of large volumes of digital health data — an area in which radiology plays a leading role. This thesis examines whether and to what extent data protection law hinders the development and deployment of machine learning in radiology. Legislators have recognised some of the identified challenges and have sought to address them through the AI Act and the EHDS Regulation. The thesis provides a detailed analysis at the intersection of data protection law, healthcare, and machine learning.
