Description
In search for the specific nature and essence of professional care, Lola Maria Amekor uses body phenomenology as a perspective and theoretical foundation. Thus, she gets to the bottom of what is unique in the encounter and relationship between professional caregivers and those to be cared for. Initially, the author deals with the concept of intercorporeality. Her findings are supported by interviews with registered caregivers, which are evaluated using systematic metaphor analysis. In this way, she succeeds in getting to the bottom of the specificity of professional care and thus makes a significant contribution to the development of the theory of the invisible in the work of professional caregivers.
