Contemporary multifaceted crises bring renewed attention to the Old Testament texts of lament, highlighting their ability to express traumatic experiences. This volume integrates modern Old Testament insights on lament texts with reflections on their use in current liturgy. What ritual uses are possible for texts in liturgy and sermons that emerge from exceptional situations while still employing traditional forms and language?
