Demokratieschutz im Praxistest

The adequate handling of right and left wing extremist associations is an issue that often porvokes controversial discussions in Germany. While conservatives often demand an alienation of both sides, left-wing groups just claim to delinate from right-wing extremist associations and make distincions between the different kind of left-wing associations. The research study shows for the first time how the protection of democracy in Germany is in practice using the example of the handling of right- and left-wing associations and it also demonstrates where there ist really a need for improvements. The analysis dosen’t only focus on the governmental level, but also on the intermediate domain. The source material of the research study includes beside a media analysis interviews with exaltet persons of the domestic intelligence service, the political area, the media, the civil society and of the science.
