Den Diskurs bestreiten

The title of this volume refers both to the impulse to conceptualise the experience of the sacred and to the conviction that this impulse – especially in the context of modernity – is in vain. This collection addresses this tension from philosophical, theological, and religious sociological perspectives. It brings together reflections on the experience of freedom in terms of recognition theory, new approaches to the concept of the secular in philosophy of religion, and (post)metaphysical thoughts on the idea of God. Edited by three authors from the field of philosophy of religion, it is intended for readers interested in theology, philosophy, religious studies, and the sociology of religion.
