The thesis examines shareholders’ right to information both in its dogmatic principles and its practical significance for shareholders' meetings. The focus lies on developing specific solutions for a simple, efficient, and modern handling of information rights in corporate practice. Particular attention is given to the new challenges and opportunities arising from the introduction of the virtual shareholders’ meeting. Based on a comprehensive analysis, the study develops a practice-oriented legislative proposal for the effective enforcement of shareholders’ information rights, including the use of digital communication and information technologies.
