On 1.1.2021, the new Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, adopted on 28.05.2020, came into force. This is a major step on the way towards a unified civil code, which goes back to the beginning of the 20th century. Thanks to the expertise of renowned German and Chinese authors, this volume covers a selection of new regulations of the special section of the Chinese civil code comparing it to the German legal system. At the same time, this volume is also a product of the good German-Chinese academic relationship.
