Der Brexit und das Subventionsrecht

The trade and cooperation agreement between the EU and the UK regulates relations after Brexit - including in the sensitive area of financial support of companies by the state. But how effectively does it really protect fair competition? This study critically analyses the agreements reached on subsidy control and contextualises them, taking into account EU law and WTO rules. It uncovers weaknesses that could lead to distortions of competition and to trade conflicts. At the same time, it recognises the agreement as a first attempt to partially reverse European integration while still maintaining close relations.
