In an aging society, the risk that dementia will affect those in positions of responsibility increases. The present book analyses and systematises the legal challenges faced by German limited liability companies (GmbHs) with shareholders with potential or actual dementia. Current legal instruments designed to protect adults with cognitive impairment do not sufficiently reflect the demands of commerce, particularly those for speedy decision-making and legal certainty. On that basis, the book explains which legal precautionary measures are necessary for long-term entrepreneurial success.
