Der portugiesische Verfassungsgerichtshof (Tribunal Constitucional) in Theorie und Praxis

The Portuguese Constitutional Court (Tribunal Constitucional) is, especially within the EU context, one of the most interesting of its kind. Its judicature in the context of austerity measures which the Portuguese government had to introduce as a result of international obligations is well known. These decisions, as well as others, which show the Court's wide range of thematic activities, are analysed in this work, as well as the relevant constitutional and legal bases.
