Der Rechtsrahmen für den Erlass von Ökodesign-Anforderungen

Ecodesign requirements apply to the ecological design of products. The EU ecodesign directive provides a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products. If the legislator decides to consider all environmental impacts of the products through the whole life cycle, which means to follow an integrated approach, a complex weighting of different environmental concerns may be necessary.
Against this background the study deals with the legal framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements in European and German law – also having regard to non-energy-related products. It treats the requirements of the ecodesign directive, the compatibility with WTO law, the relevance of fundamental rights and environmental principles for the weighting, formal requirements and the admissibility of the delegation of legislative power.
