Since 2022, public financial sanctions have presented stock corporations with novel and as yet unresolved legal issues. This dissertation examines how EU sanctions against shareholders affect their membership rights and how companies should deal with potentially frozen administrative and property rights. It focuses on options under company law to isolate sanctioned shareholders and reduce their holdings, as well as preventive measures to mitigate investment risks. In addition, the thesis explores key capital market law implications arising from sanctioned shareholdings. The dissertation is positioned at the intersection of company law, capital market law, and sanctions law.
