In Germany, collective actions are lawful only if they are used to pursue collective labour agreements. The study examines this dogma comprehensively. Not only does the author analyse the constitutional parameters, but he also considers the increasing influence of international law as well as of the law of the European Union by examining the various legal sources and the jurisdiction of the European courts. On this basis, he outlines the consequences of his concept for determining legal objectives and other conditions of legality of collective actions.
