The author works as a lawyer and advises on all issues of data protection law with a focus on the regulation of vehicle data. His dissertation is the first comprehensive examination of the criminal and civil law powers of access to vehicle data, in which a large number of different stakeholders have enormous interest. The thesis examines the current legal situation with particular attention to criminal, civil and data protection law aspects. On the basis of experience from other areas of law and other jurisdictions, reform proposals are then made in order to regulate the access to vehicle data in the best possible interests of all parties involved.
