Description
This book is based on a representative online survey conducted in 2023 among councillors from 500 selected municipalities. Based on nearly 3,000 responses, the social profile of councillors is analysed, as well as their views on issues, attitudes and role perceptions.
The results are compared with those of a similar survey carried out in 2007/2008, allowing changes over time to be identified.
It also addresses issues that have been raised in recent years, namely the use of social media by councillors and whether experiences of aggression have influenced their political activity in council and in public.
